Honest Intelligex Review: Reduce Stress and Improve Brain Power?

The Intelligex supplement is the newest among numerous supplements claimed to improve your overall brain function. It’s yet another nootropic stack that have taken over the market with special proprietary blends that boost focus and energy. Interestingly enough, the formula goes beyond what the official website releases and has some interesting possibilities.

What is Intelligex?

Well, as mentioned above it’s a nootropic stack supplement that contains some of the key ingredients that have been used in numerous similar products. It is claimed to boost Alpha Brain-Wave Magnitude, increase your brains processing speed, and improve your overall memory. The ingredients are formulated specifically to improve your brain function, memory, and concentration. It supports healthy levels of neurotransmitters by ensuring that your brain has an abundance of biological neurotransmitter precursors.

Ingredients in Intelligex

One of the first things I look for when reviewing a supplement is whether they provide a list of ingredients. Though they really did provide a list, it is far from everything in the supplement. They have missed out on a number of ingredients which would greatly help in showing that this supplement may possibly be effective. I did do some added research and found the full list though and here it is:

Active Ingredients

  • Niacin (Vitamin B3) – 20 mg – used for prevention of Alzheimer’s and currently being researched for treatment of ADHD, depression, and more. There are a number of possible side effects which you may want to consider reading into.
  • Vitamin B6 – 10 mg – although there are some studies that show that taking this ingredient with Magnesium, it has improved attention in students with ADHD, there are contradicting results. It has also shown that it is not effective in improving mental function in adults. Still, it has a number of other great benefits and minimal side effects.
  • Folic Acid (Vitamin B9) – 400 mcg – there is insufficient evidence to confirm its ability to lower the risks of developing Alzheimer’s, may improve mental function in older individuals, and a number of other benefits. Considering the dose, you should not experience any side effects from this ingredient.
  • Vitamin B12 – 20 mcg – this is one of the essential B Vitamins that has numerous roles in the body however it does not improve memory or mental function in any way. There are some studies that show it may be effective for Alzheimer’s, fatigue, and a number of other conditions. There are no reported side effects.

Proprietary Blend – 1340.1 mg
Unfortunately, as with many other similar products, there is a proprietary blend which combines some of the ingredients in one. Many websites claim it’s because they want to keep formula secret but in some cases it’s because they simply don’t want you to know that the doses are so small that they will simply be ineffective. The case here?

  • Cognizin – this is actually choline which is a key compound for learning, neurotransmitter function, and cognitive processes. I have seen it numerous times in various similar products. There is contradicting research about its effectiveness in overall brain function, though unfortunately, most studies show it may be ineffective. As long as it is not dosed high you should not experience any side effects.
  • L- Theanine – this amino acid is often found in green tea and is taken for a number of reasons including treatment of anxiety, prevention of Alzheimer’s disease, and more although there is still more research needed to confirm its effectiveness. There are no reported side effects when taken for up to 3 weeks.
  • L-Tyrosine – this is also an amino acid which can be found in a number of the foods we consume such as fish and dairy. It is taken for a number of conditions including ADD, depression, improving alertness, and more, though most are still being researched and not confirmed. There are a few minimal side effects that were rarely reported.
  • Glucuronolactone – this is a common ingredient in energy drinks but there is very little real information about its real benefits. There is contradicting information about the safety of this ingredient so I highly recommend you research it further before you buy.
  • Caffeine – I think everyone knows the benefits and downfalls of this ingredient. It has bene proven to boost energy as well as physical and mental performance. In most cases in supplements the amount of caffeine is rarely even equal to one cup of coffee so you should worry about getting too jittery or experiencing a crash.
  • Bacopa Monnieri Extract – used in the past as a cognitive booster and antidepressant this ingredient helps reduce stress and cortisol levels. It is proven to improve memory and currently being researched for a number of other benefits. There are several possible side effects and it is considered safe for up to 12 weeks as research does not go beyond that.
  • DHA – although it really does have amazing benefits and is still being researched for some that are pertaining to brain function, it has been proven to be ineffective in boosting mental performance in general. There are possible side effects so make sure you look through them before ordering.
  • Schizandrol-A – an adaptive, this ingredient helps reduce the effects of stress. Has shown effects on neurotransmitters in studies. This is actually the first time I see this ingredient in a product and honestly, can’t find too much information on it.
  • L-Glutamine – this amino acid is commonly seen in supplements for improving physical performance as it’s been linked to improving endurance especially in individuals with low-protein diets. I found no link to its benefits for mental performance. It is considered safe and there are no listed side effects.
  • Alpha Lipoic Acid – this is a vitamin-like chemical which is anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant. Among other things it has been used to treat chronic fatigue syndrome and memory loss though there is still research being done to actually confirm this. There are no serious side effects from taking this ingredient.
  • Phosphatidylserine – is the key to healthy membranes of the nerve cells. It aids in the support of cognitive function and helps with improving your ability to learn new information. Used for age-related mental decline and Alzheimer’s disease it is a great addition to this ingredient. It is considered safe with no side effects.
  • Vinpocetine – may have an effect on mental decline due to a number of diseases. It is still being researched for improving memory and numerous other conditions. There are several possible side effects you may want to look into.
  • Huperzine A – is proven to be possibly effective in treating dementia as well as improving memory. There is quite the list of possible side effects which I highly recommend you review.

The rudest and confrontational customer service ever. It is impossible to cancel “the trial’ over the phone. if you do not want the automatic supply, you have to ship the product back at your expense although you already paid shipping and handling. They added another supplement to Intelligex called Amped to my order although I did not order it, sent it in one package but charged double shipping and handling. Amped is loaded with caffeine and warns about many possible side effects. The verdict – honest companies do not run their business in such a way, I think they are a scam.

I placed an order for trial saying pay only shipping, later to my surprise the bill receipt added Amped and said it will charge me full amount of $167! That too every month! I called the worst customer service in the world to cancel my order after 40 minutes of placing the order, I was told that it has already been shipped and won’t be able to cancel the order.
This is totally a scam! I did further more research on this drug and some ingredients seemed like a problem to me. Talk to your doctor before taking this. I would say don’t even go for this. It gave me bad stomach for days. It’s a scam.

SCAM SCAM SCAM….. Free trail comes with auto billing in the fine print so I’m told by the crappy customer service. Save your money and take a sugar cube if you want an energy boost; its a lot cheaper. And the sugar cube won’t auto bill your credit card.
